DIGGING DEEPER Daniel ch 4

King Nebuchadnezzar was content with the Babylonian Motto:  “I am and there is none besides me”  Daniel 4 is about God’s discipline of a very proud King Nebuchadnezzar.   Read Daniel 4:4 and contrast it with Daniel 4:27.  What was King Nebuchadnezzar disciplined for?

 

 

Six times throughout Daniel 4, the phrase “The Most High” is used.  Write what verse you see it in and what it says about The Most High.

Why do you think it was important to include these phrases so many times throughout this chapter?

 

 

God’s desire is that we are intentional about helping others and not being so self-absorbed.  Read Isaiah 58:5-11.  These verses talk about fasting and prayer.  Verse 5 challenges us.  Is it only about prayer?  List what God desires when we pray for others?  (Hint:  they are action phrases: 

 

 

 

 

 

According to verse 11, sometimes we fear that when we give, WE will go without.  What encouragement do you get from these verses?

 

How will you pray for others today based on what you have read?
